Let's get the realities out of the way: it's a LOT of work and pricey. But then, aren't many great things? after you develop technique, things improve for certain. And having 2 drying spindles would dramatically increase throughput.
I tried various amounts'”don't be skimpy, but also don't be wasteful. After a few sets of cleaning, you will find your happy place.
After removing the film (which is oddly rewarding in itself), I place each record on its edge on my cleaning mat and use a Groovewasher brush to scrub the circumference as I turn the record for a revolution or two. What you get for that is unparalleled. The discs look so shiny and clean, while static is flatly gone. Record Restore is worth all the investment in time and money if for no reason other than the static removal. Really, there's nothing out there even close.
There are also sonic enhancements on many records, while not noticeable on others.
I don't know how long the treatment works. It is implied the benefits are permanent or, at least, semi-permanent. That's hard for me to accept, but if true, then this investment is certainly unparalleled with respect to all of my HiFi investments.
I'm still going to do my initial Groovewasher and ultrasonic cleanings (first), but only because I bought them 😂!
Also, Stephen (the owner) is wonderful, and I encourage you to reach out to him with any questions.
Thus far, I've cleaned nearly 60 records with 2 bottles. I'm out! But I'm going to place an order right now for another 8 bottles, which should get me pretty close to through my entire collection. That will be over a $1,000 investment '¦ which tells you a good bit about what I think of this product and this company.
